He trabajado en las líneas de Biología Evolutiva y Ecomorfología, implementado las herramientas de la Morfometría Geométrica, la estadística multivariada y los métodos filogenéticos comparativos, para estudiar la variación de la forma en diferentes contextos biológicos.
He desarrollado investigaciones para responder preguntas sobre evolución morfológica, relación forma-función, plasticidad fenotípica, integración morfológica y desarrollo ontogenético. Actualmente, colabora en investigaciones sobre evolución de la diversidad morfológica y funcional (biomecánica) de las alas en insectos y murciélagos, la caracterización de cambios en las trayectorias ontogenéticas en insectos bajo diferentes condiciones de desarrollo, la relación entre la morfología del cráneo y el desempeño en la dieta en mamíferos.
I have been working in the research fields of Evolutionary Biology and Ecomorphology, implementing the tools of Geometric Morfometrics, Multivariate Statistics, and Phylogenetic Comparative Methods, to study the morphological variation in diverse biological contexts.
I have developed researches to answer questions about morphological evolution, form-function relationship, phenotypic plasticity, morphological integration and ontogeny, in different groups of organisms, particularly in bats and insects. I’m collaborating in researches about the evolution of morphological and functional diversity of wings, in bats and insects, the characterization of the ontogenetic trajectories in insects growing under variable environmental conditions, and the relationship between cranial morphology and diet performance in mammals.
